Saltwater Serenades explores the ocean through atmospheric cloudscape and seascape paintings, where expansive skies, reflective water and shifting weather become the central focus. Working within a contemporary Australian landscape painting practice, the sea is approached as an atmospheric and emotional space rather than a literal subject.
These paintings focus on rhythm, light and movement, allowing the ocean to be felt rather than described. Held through restrained colour and simplified form, blues and greens are softened and layered to suggest depth, reflection and motion without excess.
The horizon becomes a point of balance, where stillness and movement coexist, offering a sense of pause and quiet reflection within continual change. Sky and water mirror one another, creating landscapes shaped as much by atmosphere and cloud as by the sea itself.
From sea horizons to inland distance, Quiet Journeys explores solitude, weather and the stillness held within landscape.
