Charleston's Collection

Every collection has a beginning.

Mine started with an unexpected phone call.

In 2025, Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions invited me to begin supplying work for their auctions. It was an opportunity I hadn’t anticipated, and one that quietly opened the door to an entirely new chapter in my practice.

While these paintings remain rooted in my fascination with weather, atmosphere and the Australian landscape, the auction rooms encouraged something different. The work became bolder. The colours deepened. Storms gathered, flowering trees became more luminous, and the compositions carried a little more drama without ever losing the quiet moments that sit at the heart of my work.

Over time these paintings found homes with collectors across Australia, inspired commissions, and often influenced the work that returned to my own studio.

This collection is an archive of that journey. It traces a year of experimentation, growth and discovery, and reminds me how one unexpected conversation can change the direction of a career.
