The Colours of Weather brings together atmospheric landscape paintings where distinctive trees, changing cloud patterns and expressive colour shape the mood of the land. Working across oil, ink and watercolour, these works reduce the landscape to its essentials – tree, horizon, ground and light – allowing colour and atmosphere to take the lead.
At times the palette is quiet and tonal, at others more saturated and shifting, but always tied to the changing conditions of weather and light.
Each painting responds to what follows weather rather than the event itself. Soft transitions and tonal shifts replace detail, so the landscape is felt rather than described, bringing a sense of calm, depth and quiet presence into a space.
These smaller original paintings are especially suited to intimate spaces, shelves, studies, bedrooms, apartments and quiet corners where a larger work may not fit.
