Heavy weather has begun to loosen its hold on the land. The clouds still carry their weight, but the first light returns across the wet earth, quietly revealing the warmth and colour that remained hidden beneath the storm.
Working between realism and abstraction, I use softened edges, layered glazes and subtle shifts of colour to build atmosphere rather than describe a particular place. For me, the landscape becomes psychological, shaped by memory, stillness and the quiet that follows after weather has passed.
Reflections linger across the ground as the sky opens through gentle tonal changes, offering the first suggestion of calm. It is a painting about what remains: the hush after turmoil, the resilience of the land, and the quiet way light returns without ever announcing itself.
