The Beauty Of Birches   is from The New Perspectives series – a return to exploring the solitary but seen through new eyes. The painting is presented in a chilean pine, natural wood floating frame.

I really enjoy dark intense colours and this new series offer a great way to use the colours of Australia. I have also discovered the beauty of birch trees, I’ve fallen in love with their spindly, twiggy branches that come out at all odd angles – love to paint these details.

This series takes its inspiration from the poem by Dorothy MacKeller, The Colours Of Light.

“Deep purples, emeralds deep and rich,
Where Autumn’s flaming and summer’s green”

On all my work the colour continues around the sides of the piece, the paintings are signed on the front with my name ‘Lucinda’ and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
