Another in my Music of the Night series, Summer Lightning Storm and Australian night cloud painting was inspired by those warm Australian evenings when distant lightning transforms the clouds from within. The storm itself remains beyond the horizon, yet its presence is written across the sky as rich crimson, violet and maroon tones drift silently through the darkness.

Some of the most memorable storms are the ones that never quite arrive. They linger on the edge of the landscape, illuminating the clouds in brief moments before fading again into the night. It is that quiet anticipation, rather than the violence of the storm itself, that drew me to this painting.
