Part of my Music of the Night series, Night Music an Australian night cloud painting was inspired by those quiet evenings when the sky seems to glow long after the sun has disappeared. A single cloud catches the last traces of light, its reflection settling across the landscape below, creating a moment of calm that feels almost suspended in time.
I’ve often found that the most memorable skies aren’t always the most dramatic. Sometimes it is simply the way light lingers beneath a cloud, turning familiar colours into rich crimsons, burgundies and soft pinks. Those fleeting moments disappear almost as quickly as they arrive, making them all the more beautiful for their brevity.
