Fire Under Stars was created for Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions as part of my continuing exploration of atmosphere, colour and the Australian landscape. A solitary flowering tree glows against a deep night sky, its warm foliage illuminated like a small fire upon the horizon. Surrounded by darkness and open space, the tree becomes a symbol of resilience, warmth and quiet endurance.

The painting reflects my fascination with the dramatic relationship between light and shadow, where a single element can transform an entire landscape and create a powerful sense of presence.
