Anno Domini MMXX is an original graphite drawing created in response to the uncertainty and isolation of 2020. Executed entirely in pencil, the work explores the quiet resilience of the Australian landscape, where open space and distant horizons become symbols of reflection, endurance and hope.

Although graphite is a medium I rarely release as finished works, drawing forms an important part of my artistic practice. Its subtle range of tones allows me to explore light, atmosphere and texture with a quietness that felt entirely suited to this moment in history.
