Amber Crown Above the Valley was created for Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions as part of my continuing exploration of weather, light and the Australian landscape. A stand of luminous amber trees rises beneath sweeping cloud formations, their warm colour glowing against the cool tones of the surrounding sky. The painting captures the changing light that often follows weather moving across the landscape, transforming an ordinary scene into something memorable and fleeting.
The contrast between the rich amber foliage and the dramatic sky creates a strong sense of atmosphere and depth. Reflecting my fascination with colour, weather and the emotional resonance of place, the work celebrates those moments when light briefly crowns the landscape before moving on
