Tending to the Quiet was created for Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions as part of my continuing exploration of atmosphere, weather and the Australian landscape. A solitary red flowering tree stands beneath a sweeping sky of luminous green and turquoise cloud, bringing a sense of warmth and presence to the expansive landscape. The painting captures a moment of reflection and stillness, where the drama of the sky is balanced by the quiet resilience of the tree below.
The contrast between the vibrant red foliage and the atmospheric sky creates a striking visual harmony, while the open landscape evokes feelings of space, contemplation and calm. Reflecting themes that frequently appear throughout my work, the painting celebrates the beauty found in quiet moments and the enduring strength of the natural world.
