Fine Feathers was created for Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions as part of my continuing exploration of the Australian landscape and its wildlife. A graceful white egret stands amongst vibrant reeds and foliage, its elegant form illuminated against a richly coloured background of blues, teals and greens. The painting celebrates the quiet beauty and dignity of one of Australia’s most recognisable wetland birds.

The contrast between the luminous white plumage and the surrounding vegetation creates a strong sense of presence and movement. Both contemporary and atmospheric, the work reflects my fascination with the relationship between wildlife and the environments they inhabit.
