Where the Light Lingers was created for Charleston’s Fine Art Auctions as part of my continuing exploration of light, atmosphere and the Australian landscape. A vast formation of luminous cloud rises above the horizon, glowing with warm golden light against a darker sky. The painting captures one of those fleeting moments when the landscape seems suspended between day and night, and the last light of the day refuses to disappear.

The dramatic interplay between brightness and shadow creates a sense of stillness and wonder, while the expansive sky becomes the true subject of the work. Reflecting my ongoing fascination with weather and atmosphere, the painting celebrates the beauty found in transient moments that can never be repeated.
