I create commissioned landscape paintings in oil, often large-scale works designed for specific spaces. Many of these pieces are atmospheric in nature, led by sky, cloud and open horizon, and are developed in restrained palettes of blue, grey and softened earth tones. They are intended to sit gently within a space, bringing calm and depth rather than demanding attention. They can also shift the mood of a room — introducing quiet, openness, or a more reflective atmosphere.
Each commission begins with a conversation centred on you and your space. Whether it’s a room that feels unresolved, a need for a particular scale or palette, or a desire to reflect the feeling of a place, the work is shaped around what matters to you.
How the Commission Process Works
Each commission develops through a simple, considered process. It begins with a conversation about your space — its scale, light, and the atmosphere you would like to create.
Many clients share photographs of the room, which helps us determine the right proportions and palette. From there, I develop an approach that responds to the space rather than imposing something onto it.
Works are often created at a larger scale, commonly around 120 to 150 cm and beyond, allowing the painting to anchor the room and hold its own within the environment.
Throughout the process, I refine the composition, palette and balance, ensuring the finished work feels resolved and natural within its setting.
Many commissions share similar starting points, even though each work becomes entirely individual.
