Weekly Art Classes

943081-SV400002.w1024Whether you are new to the world of art, just want to dabble, serious about your art or have simply lost your mojo, these art classes offer a fun and affordable way to connect with other like-minded people, make some new friends, learn something along the way and help you become really inspired.

All the art classes are small – limited to a maximum of 8 students – held in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and tailored to help you develop at your own pace, with what suits you – this is not a set curriculum, each person is unique and is treated that way. You’re never too old to learn!

In 2017 we are trying a slightly different approach in our art classes.  Each month we will be exploring something new – a few examples : salt, rice and alcohol added to watercolour; clay modelling and air drying; acrylic additives like ferrous oxide to make rust; how to use masking tape correctly for hard lines;  soldering and lots more – really exciting stuff!  For the month of January we are kicking off with life drawing with a great model!

Recently the teaching of fine art has concentrated more on the development of ideas, rather than the ‘building blocks’ to produce work.  These classes will not only cover information about materials and techniques but give you the tools to produce good artwork and the confidence and inspiration to create fantastic pieces of art!
